Find Yourself First

Step Into A New Career

Are you wanting to make a change in your career but don't have the confidence?

Do you think it's too late, that you're too old, not smart enough or not good enough?

Would you like to do something that you really love, something that you are passionate about, only you fear that if you leave the security of your existing job that you will not be able to support yourself?

Do you have problems finding a job because you never do well in interviews due to nervousness?

Are you having difficulty figuring out what you are good at?

These are very common issues that individuals present with when they come to see me. I have been in private practice as a counsellor, coach and trainer for 20 years and I have seen many people struggle with these issues.

Issues of lack of confidence, self-worth and low self-esteem can deeply affect someone's choices when deciding on a job or career. Often we settle for something that is way below our level of skills and abilities because we believe we can't do any better.

Gary has been working in a good paying steady job oing computer work for more than seven years. This job has been good since it has allowed him to work at home and live anywhere he wants to. However, Gary is bored. He doesn't find the work interesting or stimulating. He also finds that sitting at a computer staring at a monitor all day is very hard on his body. Gary has had dreams of doing something different, something more creative and purposeful. His fear is that if he gives up this job that he will lose his financial security and that doing something that, although would make him happy, is too much of a risk to take. He feels stuck and believes he has no choice but to stick with what he's got, even if he feels dissatisfied with the job.

When I first met Gary, he was very focused on what he didn't want. He didn't want to be bored anymore. He didn't want to struggle to get the work done everyday. He lacked motivation and was very depressed. I introduced Gary to the principles of the Law of Attraction which states that "whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to, the Law of Attraction will match that and give you more of it, whether positive or negative." He began to understand that by focusing on the negative side of his situation, he was only attracting more negativity.

By addressing his issues of self-worth, clearing up his fear of not having any financial security and teaching him how to use the Law of Attraction deliberately to attract more of what he wanted and less of what he didn't want, Gary was able to make the transition into a new career path, one which gave him more satisfaction and joy.
